About me

I am a philosopher of science and molecular biologist, working primarily on philosophical and historical questions in biology and chemistry.

Currently, I am a postdoctoral fellow at the Konrad Lorenz Institute for Evolution and Cognition Research (KLI), where my research explores the applicability of the Theory of Evolution to contemporary Origins of Life (OoL) research.

Previously, I was a PhD candidate within the ‘Building a Synthetic Cell’ (BaSyC) consortium, working on synthetic cell functionalization as part of the Huck group at Radboud University in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. Before pursuing a PhD, I completed two bachelor’s and master’s degrees in philosophy and molecular biology at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
